"I can't believe how much junk I learned in college! And how much money I had to pay just to learn it!"

To this very day, I still don't know what Finite Math is, and I took the course ... and passed it!
The year was 2005. That was the year I walked away with $25,000 in my pocket after winning an international poetry contest.
My wife, Jackie, was stunned in the audience while recording me being crowned as that year's grand prize winner at the Famous Poets Convention in Reno, Nevada. There were hundreds of poets competing for that prize, men and women of all ages, from all backgrounds, and from all over the world, but I was blessed to win the prize.

Picture that! Me, a young twenty-something-year-old, holding $25,000 in my hand! I'd never had that much money in my life before that. So many thoughts were swirling around in my mind concerning what to do with that money.
But I wanted to invest the money rather than waste it. I had enough wisdom to realize one thing: The first step to creating a successful life and living God's purpose for my life was to create wealth. As the Bible says, "Money is the answer for everything" (Ecclesiastes 10:19, NIV). When you're broke, you can't do the things God placed in your heart to do, which is why the Bible talks so much about the importance of creating wealth - and not just for yourself, but for your children and grandchildren (Proverbs 13:22).
Unfortunately, while I looking for an investment opportunity, I made two critical mistakes:
Mistake #1
I began asking the wrong people for advice on how and where to invest my money. Big mistake!
I asked family members, friends and church colleagues what to do with the money. And don't get me wrong, these were good-hearted people. They meant well. But they really couldn't help me because they were operating with the wrong beliefs. Therefore, the suggestions I received were...

-
"Buy a luxury car so you can impress people and make them think you're super successful."
-
"Take a dream vacation and splash and splurge. After all, you only live once, so why not? You can't take that money with you to the grave!"
-
"Just put it in a savings account and let it sit there. Don't touch it and you'll be secure when you get old."

I even asked a lady at the church who was a banker what to do with it, and all she could suggest was, "Invest it in a Certificate of Deposit (CD) account. This is the fastest way to grow your money." (Side note: Never ask a banker what to do with your money. You already know what their suggestion will be.)
When the Bible talks about reaching out to counselors for advice when making decisions, we tend to leave out one important piece: wisdom. Proverbs 13:14 says, "The instruction of the wise is like a life-giving fountain;
those who accept it avoid the snares of death" (NLT). Everyone is eager to give advice, but the only advice you should be keen to receive is "wise" advice (i.e. advice from those who possess wisdom). Not all advice is good advice. If you want to know if someone has wisdom, look at their fruit - their lifestyle, track-record, and results.

Mistake #2
I failed to invest in the type of education that teaches the laws of money.

After a barrage of bad suggestions, I was encouraged by a family member to spend that money on college tuition. They said,

"You need to use that money to further your education.
Go and pay your tuition with it."

And that's what I did. I took half of that money and paid a super expensive tuition bill with it (and that was over $10k back then, so I can only imagine what tuition costs today). And for $10k, I was allowed to sit in a classroom and learn about...Finite Math and matrices, inelasticity, Marxist philosophy, and a whole bunch of other useless information that would not help me create wealth so I could take care of a family, live the life of my dreams, and live my purpose. At best, I was being conditioned to simply...work a job.

Before I read Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad, I discovered there's a difference between what traditional schools teach us and what wealthy people believe when I had a conversation with a multimillionaire who was a guest minister at my dad's church. He came from wealth and was extraordinarily wealthy. He sat me down and asked me about my goals, to which I replied, "I just want to graduate from college and get a high paying job."
With his eyes stretched wide, he leaned in and asked, "A-a job?" Puzzled, he got up and walked away, shaking his head in disbelief. That's when it dawned on me that my goals were too low, my focus was in the wrong place, and that wealthy people speak a different language than everyone else. They think differently.

There is a system that generates wealth. This system does not operate on the principle of "hard work," which is what school and society teach us; it operates on what Proverbs 12:24 calls "Diligence" (or"smart work"), which involves implementing certain strategies, adopting a specific mindset, and developing a particular perspective. I love Steven K. Scott's explanation of diligence, which he shares in his book, The Richest Man Who Ever Lived: King Solomon's Secrets to Success, Wealth, and Happiness. He wrote,

"If I need to cut down a tree and try to cut it down with a hammer, that would be hard-working, but it certainly would not be diligent. It could take me hours, even days, to chop down a tree with a hammer. On the other hand, if I use a chain saw I might cut that same tree down in minutes. I would not be working nearly as hard, but I’d be working a lot smarter."

I was surrounded by people who had a "you've got to work hard for the money" mindset - a Poverty Mentality. And yet, I realized that for some reason, the wealthy never seemed to "work hard". They simply knew something I didn't - they knew how money worked, they knew certain strategies and techniques that enabled them to win while everyone else was struggling. They knew something I didn't, and I wanted to know what they knew.

Sadly, the rest of that money slowly dwindled away. Rather than investing that money, I simply ended up doing what most people do: I spent it on bills. Now, don't get me wrong; you have to pay the bills. But if all you do is live to pay bills, you'll never escape the rat-race. Why? Because the bills won't stop coming. Life won't offer you the opportunity to invest in yourself to gain wealth-building strategies; you have to create that opportunity.

It was nearly a decade later when I discovered where I needed to invest. In 2013, that's when my wife and I found a success coach who put our feet on the path to success. But by then, that $25k was gone. It was a classic case of "If I knew then what I know now." My wife and I had to struggle hard to get the $3,000 needed for that coaching consultation. But we were glad when we did. That was one of the best moves we ever made. It's why I'm doing what I do now, and what led to me eventually raking in over 6-figures using my expertise.
Are you on the verge of making
the same mistakes I made?
Maybe you're not standing there with thousands of dollars in your hands, wondering where to invest to set yourself up for life financially, but you are standing at a crossroads. You are thinking about your future. You are thinking about your family and all those who are near and dear to your heart, wondering how you're going to provide for them and help them in their lives.
You have dreams that are on hold, untapped potential within that's waiting to be unleashed, a sense of destiny that's now screaming your name, letting you know that there's more you should be doing - more you must do in this world. And you don't want to fall into the rat-race trap of surviving paycheck to paycheck for the rest of your life while watching your dreams and purpose fall by the wayside.

You've seen people like that. You know what a "hope deferred" does to a soul: it makes it sick (Proverbs 13:12). And to self-medicate and overcome the feelings of depression, discouragement, hopelessness and regret, people binge on dangerous substances and engage in reckless behaviors. That's not what you want. Nor is it something you have to experience. However...

you're currently experiencing what I felt back then:
You feel stuck.
You feel lost.
You feel paranoid that everyone wants your money but no one really wants to help you.
You feel frustrated over not knowing what to do or where to begin to build generational wealth.
And as time passes, you worry that you might miss the chance to live your purpose and live your dreams.

And now, you're making - or are about to make - the mistake of asking the wrong people for help and guidance.
Or you've decided to try to figure things out on your own, which will only delay your progress even more due to the many unnecessary mistakes you'll undoubtedly make.
Or worse, you've decided to continue doing what you're already doing, which will only keep you where you are in life and cause you to keep getting the results you're currently getting.
Think Differently...And Grow Rich

Brian Tracy, in his bestselling book The Psychology of Selling, talked about the discovery that changed his life and led to him becoming a multimillionaire.

In his book, he mentions that he was always a hard worker. Even when he was underage, he left school to start working. He spent most of his life doing manual labor jobs, earning enough to make ends meet, but never enough to become wealthy. This is because when you work for a fixed amount of time, your earning potential is limited. Time is finite, and you can only work so much in a day, and someone else decides how much your time is worth.

This went on for years until he landed a job as a salesman at a company. Suddenly, he was behind a desk making cold calls to potential customers, attempting to sell the company's products. Despite his hard work, he wasn't making any progress. He faced rejection after rejection. He put in long hours, was the first one to arrive, and the last one to leave. He worked hard - and that was the problem.
Tracy was puzzled by the behavior of the company's top salesman. Although he was the best in the company, he would arrive late and leave early every day, which was in stark contrast to Tracy's strong work ethic.

And yet, he was the most successful salesman there!

Tracy was puzzled by how a man who worked so little was able to sell more than everyone else. Despite arriving early to work and making countless calls, he wasn't able to land any clients. However, this guy would casually stroll into the office with his golf clubs and sit down for a few minutes, and before he knew it, clients would be lining up outside his door. He was closing deals left and right. When he was done, he would leave the office and head straight to the golf course.

Tracy couldn't help but wonder, "What is this guy doing differently?" So, one day, he decided to approach the man and ask him about his secret. He shared his frustration with the man, explaining that despite working hard, he wasn't getting any sales. The man looked at him and revealed his secret. He had worked for a Fortune 500 company in the past and had undergone specialized training for sixteen months on how to sell correctly. He explained that relying on cliches and fancy talking points wouldn't cut it and that he had to learn the power of a sales presentation. Moreover, he needed to invest in the proper training and learn the techniques that successful salesmen use, which are taught in sales seminars.
Tracy's life changed once he realized that success isn't based on hard work but on knowledge. By learning the right strategies and aquiring the right skills, you'll achieve better results while putting in less effort.

All it takes to transform your life and build wealth is acquire the right knowledge of effective strategies and techniques.
Beware of the "Poor Man's Wisdom"
I didn't make that phrase up; the Bible did.
Life takes on a whole new meaning when you find the right guide: someone who can help you get clear about your purpose and goals and set your feet on the path of success. Sadly, you probably won't find many people around you who can help you even in most schools and churches. And that's because most of the people we know and associate with believe myths, lies and misconceptions about success and wealth - lies like these:

-
"To become wealthy, you have to work hard."
-
"It's hard to make money, and even harder to become rich."
-
"Do what you love and you'll never work another day in your life."
-
"The 'system' is against us. It's hard for people who look like us to succeed."
-
"Without a college degree, you'll never experience a better life."
-
"It ain't what you know, it's who you know that counts."
-
"The way to become wealthy is to save your money."

This is what the Bible refers to as "the wisdom of the poor" in Ecclesiastes 9:16. There, Solomon said such wisdom is "despised" by others because its giver doesn't have any fruit in their life. Also, such wisdom will keep you broke and cause you to abandon your dreams and live beneath your God-given potential.

People with a poverty mindset can't help you reach your destination. And that's because...
-
They view money as evil and condemn those who have it rather than learning from them how to get it.
-
They curse wealth but dare to pray to God for it so they can take care of their expenses. But I thought money was evil. So why are you asking God to bless you with something that's...evil?
-
They prefer to dream about doing good - giving to the needy, helping their ministry financially, impacting the youth in a major way, having greater influence and using it for God's Kingdom, etc. - rather than put themselves in the position to actually do those things (because it takes money to do those things).
-
They'd rather spend their time praying for money rather than pursuing wisdom as the Bible says (and when the money doesn't come, they'd rather focus on blaming the devil instead of examining their actions).
-
What's even worse is that they'd prefer to live in denial, pretending like it's virtuous to be broke rather than acknowledging that they lack knowledge of how to build wealth.
I Have A Question For You:
What would you do if money was no longer an obstacle for you?

Do me a favor: close your eyes for a moment and imagine what you'd be doing right now if the lack of money wasn't a hindrance for you. What would you spend your time doing? Who would you help? What kind of person would you be?

Now, do me another favor and write down what you saw in your mind. Write down that vision of yourself you saw in your head. Write down all of the things you saw yourself doing - for your family, for others, and for yourself. And once you've written them down, think about what it's going to take for you to accomplish those things. Think about the one resource you'll need the most.

I am not just presenting a business mentorship program to you. I am offering a bridge to your envisioned destination. This bridge is wealth, which is a resource promised to the people of God in the Bible:

-
"The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it." (Proverbs 10:22, NIV)
-
"Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in his commands. Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever." (Psalm 112:1-3, NIV)

God gave you a dream, and now, He's giving you "a bridge" to get there. That bridge is called...

I've spent over a decade helping people like create products for their businesses and develop their brands.

I built a 6-figure earning business from scratch: T&J Publishers, a book publishing company. I've worked with hundreds of authors, helping them to craft their stories, design and publish their books, create digital products, and build their brands. I've worked with pastors, life coaches, entrepreneurs, reality television personalities, celebrity athletes, and more. You can view some of my work here.

Both my wife and I have built successful brands and businesses using our own expertise, from coaching programs to digital products raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I've learned the system (with the help of other coaches and mentors, of course). I've discovered that success is a system, not an accident or luck. It's about doing the right things in the right order, starting with your mindset and culminating in your brand. And it's this understanding that has allowed me to serve others over that last decade, helping them to find success in their endeavors.

Now, I do agree with one of the suggestions I received from a family member regarding the money I'd just won. I agree I needed to further my education, but the type of education I needed was different from what most people think about.

When most people think of education, they think of school, college, or university. However, my wife and I received the best education we'd ever received through coaching programs and masterminds. That's a different type of learning, the kind that cuts through all of the fluff and useless theories and provides a framework for success based on the teacher's experience, not a textbook.

Some business professors in business schools have never actually run a business themselves. I remember watching an episode of Shark Tank one night, where a woman was pitching her idea for a high-grade form of chopsticks made from bamboo wood. However, the sharks were not interested. The woman mentioned something that caught my attention. Despite being a professor and teaching at a business college, she had never actually started or run a business herself. All she had was a textbook full of theories that she required her students to memorize in order to pass her class.

Is college a waste of time? Absolutely not. However, if you aim to excel in business, it's highly recommended to surround yourself with individuals who are already succeeding in that field. The best places to find such people are mastermind groups, coaching programs, and mentorship programs. By learning directly from someone who's already doing what you want to do and sharing their framework with you, based on their experience, you can gain valuable insights. Keep in mind that experience does matter.
Invest in yourself this year!

Gain the practical and biblical wisdom needed to build a successful business, and hence, experience the life you were designed to live. Usually, programs like this will cost $5k and up. But that's because the value of what you are getting is life-changing. What if one investment provided you with the ability to...

-
Spend more time into your family
-
Live your God-given purpose
-
Create a better life for yourself and your loved ones
-
Enjoy life more and do the things that make you happy

Would that investment be worth it? What dollar amount could you assign to either of those things?

Or let's look at the flip-side. I want you to ask yourself,
"How much is it costing me to make mistakes and procrastinate? What am I currently losing as a result?"

-
Sleep?
-
Happiness due to unfulfilled dreams?
-
Harmony and intimacy in my marriage?
-
Peace of mind due to anxiety and stress?
-
Time and energy over not knowing what to do or where to start?
-
The ability to live my purpose?
-
Money?
And when I say money, I'm talking about thousands of dollars on software and equipment you don't need. I'm also talking about tens of thousands of dollars on programs you don't need. Thousands of dollars on products that aren't even aligned with your brand. And countless missed opportunities to prosper due to not having the right things in place at the right time and in the right order. Basically, when you add it all up, you'll be losing way more money than it'll cost you to invest in this, or any, mentorship program.

Investing your money in learning new skills to increase your value and net worth is a wise decision. However, spending your money on things like Starbucks, useless trips that leave you broke, clothes and accessories that lose their value after being used once, and other such items are a waste of money. Don't throw away the seed that God has given you, instead sow it into your future by investing in something that will help you grow your worth and increase your net worth. That way, you'll be able to buy those luxury items and take those vacations without worrying about how to pay the bills afterwards. Remember, investing in your knowledge and skillset is the key to a prosperous future.
